Rule Book

In order to be eligible to win a prize, your team and project must follow all of the guidelines of UVMHacks:

  1. Group Requirements:
All groups must have 2-4 computer science (hacking equivelent) and 1-2 business (ideating, project manager equivelent) teammates.

  2. Attendance Requirement:
All participants must be present for the entire duration of the hackathon, including their team’s final presentation.

  3. Registration and Agreement:
Participants must complete registration prior to the event and agree to the event's terms and conditions.

  4. Use of AI Tools:
While we encourage the use of language models like ChatGPT for generating test cases, participants should refrain from using them for any other coding or development tasks.

  5. Code and Hardware Restrictions:
Teams are not permitted to use pre-existing code, hardware, or solutions. All work must be developed from scratch during the hackathon.

  6. Submission Deadline:
All final project submissions must be made before the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.

  7. Code of Conduct:
Be respectful and professional in all interactions with fellow participants, mentors, and judges. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of harmful behavior will not be tolerated.

  8. Third-Party Content:
Any third-party content (e.x: images, music, software) used in a team’s project must be properly cited and credited.
